Mustard and Florals

Wow, two posts in a week?! Told you I was feeling inspired lately. And like yesterday, this thank you card was also inspired by a piece of of pretty fabric – Nicey Jane Picnic Bouquet by Heather Bailey – that is part of a quilt in our home.

That mustard/gold color is one that people either seem to love or hate and you can definitely count me into the LOVE category. It’s one of those shades that you might find on a “what does the color of my baby’s poo mean” charts and while a bit putrid, I can’t help but feel a bit of affection for these outcast colors. After all, who else is going to love them?

Ombre Stripes

Hello Monday – my favorite day of the week! After a weekend of catching up on sleep and doing not much besides spending time together with my little family, I always feel so ambitious and full of energy on Mondays. Lots of to-do lists to complete today and it just so happened that blogging is on there too.  I miss stopping in here to share and really want to make it a priority again. So without further adieu…

A fun technique that I shared on the Clearsnap blog last month – Ombre Stripes (see full post here). This version makes a pretty book binding edge and the photo below uses it as the focus of the card.

There is a mixture of ink, foil, glitter and embossing powder to create an eye-catching and super girly design. Video tutorial included in case you want to try it too. I really love how it turned out (full post here)!

Hoping your week is wonderful,
