Hello there! I don’t have anything too exciting to share today – just a simple card set for the February blog hop challenge at Papertrey Ink and the Make-it Monday #153.
I created a set of 6 pastel based cards, with a watercolor wash (Colorbox® Premium Dye Inks) and embossed flower from Year of Flowers mini – am ashamed to say this is the very first time that this set has seen ink!
After embossing, I stamped the flower image again slightly off-center in the same color as the watercolor to give a bit of a shadow. Anything to keep these from being too plain 🙂
The weather has been so cold and blah here, with no sunshine for the last few days and it has really zapped my energy and creativity. I had hoped doing a little spring-themed crafting would kick start something but am still walking around with this hazy headed feeling.
Alas, tomorrow is another day – hopefully a sunny one 🙂
Have been feeling super inspired and energetic lately despite being sick with a nasty head/chest cold and less than ideal sleep. There is no better feeling than getting a ton of stuff done and still having time left over to make something pretty just because.
This card was actually inspired by one of my daughter’s tops. I’ve been wanting to use the colors in it forever. Oshkosh uses some of the prettiest floral fabrics on their clothing – almost as pretty as the liberty of london prints really. Can’t help buying up every pretty top we find even though the girls don’t wear them as often as I’d like 🙂
Also, first snow came to Central Iowa yesterday!
Keep warm and cozy,
