PTI May 2014 Blog Hop Challenge

Hey there! It’s the weekend and I almost never post but today I have a project to share for the May Papertrey Ink blog hop challenge. I just adore the inspiration roundup with the combination of aqua and melon!

This card was inspired by the print on the bottom right and also by a super pretty wedding cake I found on Pinterest. But it’s lost so I can’t share the link – ack, sorry! I used “The Sweet Life” and “Mini Blooms” stamp sets and dies.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThere is a subtle shimmery chevron design going on in the background too. You can kind of see it at this angle but it’s pretty light even in real life. Lots of layers here – my fave – and a couple different types of vellum. Today would be a beautiful day for a May wedding! 🙂

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Thinking of You

Hello there! I wish I could say I’m glad it’s Friday but the truth is the upcoming week is full enough that I should have 2 weeks to fit it all in. Nonetheless, I have been making cards all week instead of getting ahead on my to-do list. Oops!

Here’s one inspired by the MMB#23 at Wplus9. Orange is a tough color for me so this challenge ended up in a bit of a random design. But hey, that candle cloche die makes a nice spool when you turn it on the side. 🙂

Happy Friday!

Inspired by the following challenges:
WPlus9 Monday Mood Board – #23
Simon Says Stamp – Heather’s Sketch

Ink – Colorbox Pigment Ink (Sweet Melon, Peony, Abyss, Turtle, Dune, Moss Green)
Stamps – WPlus9 (Fresh Cut Florals)
Patterned Paper – Dear Lizzy AC
Dies – Wplus9 (Fresh Cut Florals), Papertrey Ink (Trellis Embossing Plate)

Mustard and Florals

Wow, two posts in a week?! Told you I was feeling inspired lately. And like yesterday, this thank you card was also inspired by a piece of of pretty fabric – Nicey Jane Picnic Bouquet by Heather Bailey – that is part of a quilt in our home.

That mustard/gold color is one that people either seem to love or hate and you can definitely count me into the LOVE category. It’s one of those shades that you might find on a “what does the color of my baby’s poo mean” charts and while a bit putrid, I can’t help but feel a bit of affection for these outcast colors. After all, who else is going to love them?

Colorbox Chalk Ink – Fawn, Mint, Plumeria, Chambray, Butter, Blackbird, Popcorn, Aquamarine, Sour Apple
Stamps — WPlus9 (Fresh Cut Florals) + Coordinating Dies
Impression Plate –  Papertrey Ink (Stripes)

Brights + Florals

Have been feeling super inspired and energetic lately despite being sick with a nasty head/chest cold and less than ideal sleep. There is no better feeling than getting a ton of stuff done and still having time left over to make something pretty just because.

This card was actually inspired by one of my daughter’s tops. I’ve been wanting to use the colors in it forever. Oshkosh uses some of the prettiest floral fabrics on their clothing – almost as pretty as the liberty of london prints really. Can’t help buying up every pretty top we find even though the girls don’t wear them as often as I’d like 🙂

Also, first snow came to Central Iowa yesterday!

Keep warm and cozy,

Ink – Colorbox Dye Ink (Guava, Cornflower), Colorbox Pigment Ink (Berry, Canary, Celadon), Top Boss Watermark & White Emboss. Powder
Stamps – Hero Arts (Background, Sentiment); Papertrey Ink (Rosie Posey, Mini Blooms)
