This bag was so much fun to customize and has such a classic design that will never go out of style. The thing that really struck me right out of the box was the high quality construction – it’s made from a heavy duty polymer with well-made hinges and hardware. And it’s made in the USA which is always a plus!
There are of course endless options for adding your own personal touch to the insert panels and for this bag I took a little inspiration from the classy, ladylike look of Kate Spade bags. Polka dots and a bow = classy perfection!
The background was created with a combination of spray inks and some fine glitter for a spring look.
I sprayed several coats of Colorbox® Sprays!, Spritzers and Smooch Spritz and then blended with an Art Wheel.
This next step you’ll definitely want to do outside or in a ventilated area (cough, cough, hack, hack). 🙂 Coat the panels with a spray adhesive sealant and then sprinkle with a fine glitter such as the Fairy Dust glitter. I then added another layer of the sealer to keep the glitter in place. It sort of looks like a shimmery, far away galaxy!
The final step, which I didn’t get a photo of, was to stamp the background with a polka dot image. I found pigment ink gave the best coverage on top of the glitter.
